Airmid Theatre Company will be returning to the Nissequogue River State Park

The Airmid Theatre Company, founded in 2000, recovers, collects, and produces classic works by women. With these plays at the heart of its mission, the company creates a safe home for women theatre artists, and ignites broad public recognition of the essential contribution women have made to the worlds of theatre, dramatic literature and society. Airmid will be returning to the Nissequogue River State Park to bring two FREE productions to Long Island. (NYS Parks parking fee applies prior to 4pm.)

"Snickerty Nick & the Giant" is the first production of the summer, and performs July 26th to August 13th, Mondays thru Fridays at 1:00pm. This production is great for ages 5 and up, and it includes audience participation! Snickerty Nick works for the hard-hearted giant, Baron Bomberrum who wants to know why his garden just won’t grow. No silver bells, no cockleshells, no flowers all is row for him! Can the giant, and his garden, be transformed by the kindness of a child? With a little help from Nicky, of course it can! Music, rhyme, and lots of silliness come together in this interactive and lively adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic tale, The Selfish Giant.

In August, Airmid is producing "Three-Cornered Moon," which runs August 11th to August 29th, Wednesdays thru Saturdays at 7:00pm, and Sundays at 3:00pm. The wildly eccentric Rimplegar family lives the life of Riley; no work and all play for this wealthy Brooklyn family. But when a stock market mishap wipes them out, the family must give up its extravagant ways and take jobs! The mad-capped boys get hired as a lifeguard and jazz musician, extra bedrooms are rented out to romantic rivals, but only the levelheaded, love interest Elizabeth finds real work. Will the family, and love, survive? This charming screwball comedy was the toast of Broadway in 1933, setting the tone for future plays like “You Can’t Take it With You” to be successful for generations to come!
